iPad Pro 11, 12.9 with Apple M2, Apple Pencil, Wi-Fi 6E

New generation of iPad Pro tablets has been released with spitting image of predecessors as Apple did not touched the design of the iPad Pro or iPad Pro 12.9.

The new Apple M2 chipset with more powerful M1Pro, M1 Max or M1 ultra are upgraded in the new sets.

In theory, the Apple M2 should offer 15% better CPU performance, 35% faster GPU, and 40% faster AI workflow speeds for the iPad Pro 11 and iPad Pro 12.9 compared to the Apple M1. For reference, the Apple M2 has a 16-core neural engine with 8 processor cores and 10 GPU processing units.

Additionally, Apple has integrated up to 16 GB of unified memory with up to 100 GB/s bandwidth. That’s 50% more than the Apple M1 can handle.

Surprisingly, Apple included a Wi-Fi 6E compatible modem that the MacBook Air M2 lacks. Additionally, the new iPad Pro series supports the new Apple Pencil hover feature.

Compatible with 2nd generation Apple Pencil units, this feature allows users to know where the stylus is when the stylus is up to 12mm away from the screen.

The new iPad Pro series starts at $799 and $1,099 for the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, respectively.

As usual, Apple offers numerous storage configurations and LTE options. Pre-orders should start shipping in multiple markets starting October 26th.
