ASUS Unveils GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition

The ASUS GeForce RTXTM 4080 Noctua Edition graphics card is a continuation of the business’s relationship with the iconic cooling manufacturer, expanding on the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Noctua editions.

ASUS Unveils GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition

ASUS and Noctua have collaborated to manage the GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card power this year. The Noctua fan design expertise and ASUS custom-built vapour chamber create the quietest air-cooled RTX 4080 available on the market.

Cool and Quiet

The ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition has a pair of cutting-edge Noctua NF-A12x25 fans to flow air over a huge heatsink, which was designed in collaboration between the ASUS thermal R&D team and Noctua engineers.

The developers successfully optimised the heatsink’s fin density and heat pipe configuration for the airflow characteristics of the NF-A12x25.

To promote low noise levels, a smooth acoustic signature, and strong cooling performance while providing space for two 120 mm fans, ASUS increased the card’s volume to 4.3 slots.

The card contains a Dual BIOS option, and the Quiet mode is activated by default to minimise noise from the moment it is opened.

Due to the various advances packed into its 120 mm frame, the NF-A12x25 was a natural choice for our project. The extraordinarily low thermal expansion coefficient of Noctua’s Sterrox® liquid crystal polymer (LCP) impellers allows the fan blades to rest just 0.5 mm away from the outside frame.

This exceptionally tight tolerance permits the NF-A12x25 fans to operate more efficiently against back pressure by minimising airflow leakage, which is ideal for a densely packed GPU fin stack.

The motor hub and axis reinforced with metal further support this exceptionally accurate spacing between the impeller and frame.

Vapor Chamber Development

ASUS engineers were not happy to rest on their laurels despite the collaboration with Noctua on the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Noctua Editions being a remarkable success in lowering acoustics for optimum GPU performance.

This year’s design incorporates an extended vapor chamber with a network of eight heat pipes. When operating at the GeForce RTX 4080’s TDP of 320 watts, the ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition reaches a maximum temperature of only 61.7° Celsius while maintaining the same ultra-low noise levels as the GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Noctua models.

Trust ASUS and Noctua’s decades of technical experience to extract the maximum performance from your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080.

Confident Styling

ASUS recognises that Noctua aficionados are equally concerned with the aesthetics of their builds as they are with excellent performance and low noise levels.

Therefore, ASUS designed a bespoke brown shroud for the Noctua fans, complimenting their distinctive colour scheme and providing a secure mounting mechanism without the need for zip ties.

ASUS and Noctua logos on the front and sides of the shroud and subtle graphics on the full-length alloy backplate allow this graphics card to coordinate flawlessly with other Noctua system components.

Power up and Have Fun

Pair the GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition with a premium ASUS power supply for optimal performance. The ROG Thor 1000P2 is the ideal power supply for an ultra-quiet, ultra-powerful system due to its high-quality components and efficient operation.

Use the ROG Loki 1000P FX-L power supply for a more compact setup. Each power supply comes with a 10-year warranty, so users can be certain that their rigs will continue to get stable, dependable power over time.

FAQs

How powerful will RTX 4080 be?
In our test suite, the RTX 4080 averaged 159.3 frames per second, while the RTX 4070 Ti kept up a decent 134.4 frames per second. This results in the RTX 4070 Ti’s frame rates dropping by about 15%. The AMD RX 7900 XT, a direct competitor, performed far better, averaging 146.7 frames per second, an improvement of about 8%.

How much will the Nvidia 4080 cost?
The RTX 4080’s recommended list price for the Founders Edition card is a staggering $1,199, and some of Nvidia’s partners raise that cost by as much as a few hundred dollars.

How many GB is RTX 4080?

GeForce RTX 4080

Boost Clock (GHz)2.51
Base Clock (GHz)2.21
Standard Memory Config16 GB GDDR6X
Memory Interface Width256-bit

What power supply will I need for a 4080?

750W unit: According to official information from Nvidia, the RTX 4080 requires at least a 750W power supply to function properly. According to Nvidia, the GPU may consume up to 320W of electricity. The 4080s alleged 320W consumption is relatively low when compared to other GPUs.

Is RTX better or GTX better?
The RTX is a much better option, even though they are still producing GTX graphics cards (for either laptops or desktops). For instance, the GTX 1080, the top card in the GTX 10 Series, can perform better than the entry-level RTX 20 Series card, the RTX 2060.
