Asus Vivobook Classic Series OLED Panels and AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs

ASUS has unveiled updated models of the Vivobook 14 OLED, Vivobook 15 OLED, and Vivobook 16 within the Vivobook Classic series.

All systems are equipped with AMD Barcelo Refresh APUs from the Ryzen 7000 series. Additionally, the Vivobook Classic series offers 16:10 and OLED displays.

ASUS has launched the Vivobook Classic series, which includes the Vivobook 14 OLED, Vivobook 15 OLED, and Vivobook 16.

ASUS has issued the model numbers M1405, M1505, and M1605 to the Vivobook 14 OLED, Vivobook 15 OLED, and Vivobook 16 for reference purposes.

Although ASUS advertises these laptops as having AMD Ryzen 7000 APUs, they only have Zen 3 components, not Zen 3+ or Zen 4 components. The Ryzen 5 7530U and Ryzen 7 7730U are repackaged versions of the Ryzen 5 5625U and Ryzen 7 5825U APUs.

Similarly, the Vivobook 16’s Ryzen 5 5625U and Ryzen 7 5825U are near relatives of the Ryzen 5 5600U and Ryzen 7 5800U.

All Vivobook Classic variants have 8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and a SO-DIMM slot that can accommodate an additional 8 GB module. Furthermore, ASUS provides the laptops with PCIe 3.0 NVMe storage as well as the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x DC power input
  • 1x HDMI 1.4
  • 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (USB power delivery supported)

Moreover, ASUS equips IPS variants with 42 Wh batteries and OLED models with 50 Wh batteries. The Vivobook 16 exclusively features an IPS display, whereas the 14-inch model will provide a choice between IPS and OLED.

In contrast, the 15-inch device will be offered in two OLED configurations. ASUS has yet to disclose pricing or availability, but it has detailed crucial display characteristics and other specifications in a news release.
